About Us

Until July of 2008, Steve was a Partner with Hedrick & Morton, LLP. During his five (5) year tenure with Hedrick & Morton, LLP, Steve represented more than 250 clients including individuals, families, partnerships, corporations, insurance companies and government entities. Steve has represented clients in each level of our North Carolina Courts and is licensed to practice before all state and federal courts of the State of North Carolina. Steve has represented clients all over South Eastern North Carolina and regularly appears in New Hanover County, Brunswick County, Pender County, and Onslow County.

Law School

Steve is a graduate of the University of Dayton School of Law where he received two Cali Excellence Awards for the Highest Grade in Class in Civil Trial Practice and Health Care Law. As a member of the Moot Court Team, Steve placed 2nd out of 185 competitors in the Walter H. Rice Moot Court Competition. Steve also competed in the Ruby R. Vale Interschool Corporate Moot Court Competition in Wilmington, Delaware, home of the 210 year old Delaware Court of Chancery which has written most of our country's corporate case law. During law school, Steve concentrated his studies in real property and land use law; he worked for the Legal Aid Society of Dayton, and clerked two years for the Honorable Nadine Ballard of the Montgomery County Common Pleas Court.

Community Involvement

Prior to attending law school, Steve received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Elon College. Steve also received his Masters in Public Administration from Appalachian State University with a concentration in Town and County Management. As the Assistant Town Administrator for the Town of Biltmore Forest, Steve served the community for nearly four years as a staff liaison to the Board of Commissioners, Board of Adjustment, Planning Commission and various other appointed committees. In addition to his daily administrative responsibilities, Steve also represented the Town on various community boards. Steve formerly held a North Carolina Real Estate Sales License and has many years of experience working for his family�s construction and property management companies. Steve is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association, New Hanover County Bar Association and American Bar Association. He is a member of the Real Property, Zoning, Planning & Land Use and Government/Public Sector Sections of the North Carolina Bar Association. Steve remains an active member of the community and is an Officer and Secretary for the North Carolina Azalea Festival.
